内容：
写真家の星野道夫氏が他界し既に20年以上の歳月が流れるが、星野道夫氏の写真やエッセイは今も根強い人気を保ち、彼の写真展には多くの人々が訪れる。一方、映画『ガイアシンフォニー』は、イギリスの生物物理学者ジェームズ・ラブロックの唱えるガイア理論をベースに、龍村仁監督によって制作されドキュメンタリー映画であり、環境問題や人間の精神性に深い関心を寄せる人たちのバイブル的存在となっている。

 

今回は映画『ガイアシンフォニー第3番』から、星野道夫氏のパートを上映し、この映画との関りが深い榎木孝明氏、生前の星野道夫氏と関わりのあった高橋真理子氏、更には『星野道夫オーロラストーリー』を手掛けた小林真人氏をお迎えし、遺された星野道夫氏のメッセージを紐解きながら、この令和時代を迎えた現代社会における人々の生き方、ひいてはガイアの未来について考えてみたい。

映画上映会　龍村仁監督
『ガイアシンフォニー第3番（星野道夫）』

「“母なる星地球（ガイア）”は、それ自体が一つの大きな生命体であり、我々人類は、その大きな生命体の一部分として、他の全ての生命体と共に、今、ここに生かされている」を基本コンセプトに、写真家の星野道夫氏にフォーカス。

アラスカの港町、ケチカンで熊の一族の長老と出会った星野氏は、「熊の神話」上の重要人物「カーツ」の名を与えられた。そして、その翌年の1996年に彼はテレビ番組の撮影で滞在したロシアのカムチャッカで熊に襲われて亡くなった。

敬愛する熊に命を捧げ、自然に帰っていった彼について、星野氏が暮らしたアラスカでの生活の中で出会った友人たちが彼の魂について語っています。

自然との調和、目に見えない存在、年長者への敬意、輪廻など星野道夫氏のスピリチュアリティは私たちが無意識に求めている価値観であり、多くの参加者の心に響いた。

Movie Screening
”Gaia Symphony No.3(Michio Hoshino)”by Jin Tatsumura

Focused on photographer Michio Hoshino, under the basic concept "Mother Star Earth (Gaia) is one big life in itself, and we human beings, along with all other life, is being kept alive as part of that big life."

Hoshino, who met the elder of the clan of the bear in Alaska's port town, Ketchikan, was given the name "Kurz", an important figure in "The Myth of the Bear".
The following year, in 1996, he died of a bear attack in Kamchatka, Russia, where he stayed for television show shooting.

Friends who met in life in Alaska talked about Mr. Hoshino, who gave life to his beloved bear and returned to nature.

Michio Hoshino's spirituality, such as harmony with nature, invisible presence, respect for the elders, and reincarnation, is a value we have unconsciously, and has resonated with the hearts of many participants.

オーロラストーリー　～星野道夫・宙（そら）との対話～を作曲。

小林真人さんのピアノ演奏をバックに高橋さんの案内を通じて、私たちは宇宙の旅を体験しました。講演の間、会場の照明を落とし、オーロラや星空の美しい映像を通じて、私たち人間が住んでいる地球について、宇宙について、高橋真理子さんは語りました。「この広い宇宙の中で生とは死とは？人間とは？」遥か遠く高いところから、とても平静な気持ちで、考える時間でした。

高橋さんは長期入院などで外出できない子どもたちのために、移動式のプラネタリウムを持って子どもたちに星空を届ける活動を全国で展開しています。

母から贈られた本『アラスカ　光と風』を目にしてからアラスカに行くことを夢みて、ついには星野道夫さんに手紙を出したとのこと。そして、30年前に星野道夫さんとアラスカで出会う。そこから星野さんが子供たちにアラスカの自然を体験させるために立ち上げた「オーロラクラブ」の10周年記念イベントを科学館で行ったり、星野道夫さんとの交流が続きました。

Composer of Aurora story 〜Dialogue between Michio Hoshino and empyrean〜

With Masato Kobayashi's piano performance in the background, we experienced space travel through Mr. Takahashi's guidance. During the lecture, Mariko Takahashi talked about the universe, the earth where we humans live through beautiful images of auroras and starry sky, dropping the lights in the hall. "What is life in this wide universe?" What is a human being? It was a time to think with a very calm feeling from an afar high place.

Takahashi is developing activities throughout the country to deliver starry sky to children with a mobile planetarium for children who cannot go out due to long-term hospitalization.

After seeing the book "Alaska Light and Wind," which was a gift from her mother, she dreamed of going to Alaska and sent a letter to Michio Hoshino.
30 years ago,she finally met Michio Hoshino in Alaska. From there, she helps with Hoshino's 10th-anniversary event of the Aurora Club, which he set up to help children experience the nature of Alaska, as she continued to interact with Michio Hoshino.

「頬を撫でる極北の風邪の感触、夏のツンドラの甘い匂い、白夜の淡い光、見過ごしそうな小さなワスレナグサのたたずまい・・・・

　ふと立ち止まり、少し気持ちを込めて、五感の記憶の中にそんな風景を残してゆきたい。何も生み出すことない、ただ流れてゆく時を、大切にしたい。あわただしい、人間の日々の営みと並行して、もう一つの時間が流れていることを、いつも心のどこかで感じていたい。」

現代のせわしく慌ただしく過ぎていく日々の中で、自然に触れることの大切さを訴えかけ、それぞれの風景が浮かんでくる世界観が会場全体を包み込みました。

星野道夫氏の文章が持つ魅力はさることながら、榎木孝明さんの静かな語らいは誰かと一緒にアラスカの大地を見つめていると錯覚しているかのように言葉のひとつひとつが心に沁み込みました。

Wasurenagusa from "The Tree to Travel"

The writing has appealed to the importance of exposure to nature in today's busy, hurried days. The whole venue was surrounded by a world view of each landscape.

Not only is the charm of Michio Hoshino's writing, but each word of Takaaki Enokii's quiet narrative was absorbed in my heart as if I had the illusion that I was in the land of Alaska with someone else.

小林真人さん
星野さんの言葉はシンプルだけど思いがまっすぐに心に響くから好き。
星野さんの言葉に出会って、いらないものすべてをそぎ落として、シンプルな思いを込めて楽曲を作っていこうと思った。

高橋真理子さん
自分の人生の中で一番影響を与えてくれた人。
彼に出会っていなければ、今の自分はいない。
出会ったときは大学一年生の時に、星野さんに手紙を書いて、そこからやり取りをして、オーロラを見に直接アラスカまで行ったが、彼のおかげでいろいろな人に出会えたし、今でも出会わせていただいている。

榎木孝明さん
ガイアシンフォニ―第3番の撮影の途中で出演者であった星野道をが亡くなったため、中止になると考えたが、映画がそのまま撮影されることに驚いた。
感じたのは星野道夫はみんなの心の中で生きていて、体は滅んでも、魂は生きていることを表現できている素晴らしい映画である。星野道夫は豊かさについて、本当の意味で”豊かさ”という言葉は存在しないということを教えてくれている。

これはつまり、星野道夫の精神は人間にとって必要であり日本のDNA。
日本人が無意識に求めている価値観ではないだろうか。

-実際には道夫さんはどのような人でしたか？

友人が多く、素朴で、温かい人。
おっちょこちょいの一面もあった。
　
-本に書かれている精神的なことをいつも話す人でしたか？

基本、日常では精神的なことについては話さなかった。
一緒に撮影に行って、その時の写真やエピソードが後に本になったときに、初めて彼が何を考え、感じていたのかを知った。

映画の映像をみて、自然のことを忘れていたことにハッとした。
自然との時間は神様から与えられた贈り物であることを思いださせてくれた。
アラスカの自然に星野さんを感じることができた、とっても大切に時間であった。

Hoshino-san's words are simple, but I like them because his thoughts resonate straight to my heart.
When I came across Hoshino-san's words, I decided to remove everything I didn't need and make a song with a simple thought.

Mariko Takahashi
The person who influenced me the most in my life.
If I hadn't met him, I wouldn't be what I am now.
I was a freshman at university when I met him. I wrote a letter to him. Since then, we wrote letters to each other and went to see Aurora directly. Thanks to him, I was able to meet many people. Today,he is still helping me to meet new people.

Takaaki Enoki
Because of the death of Michio Hoshino in the middle of the shooting of the Gaia Symphony No. 3third film, I thought it would be canceled, but I was surprised that the movie was filmed as it was.
I felt that Michio Hoshino is alive in everyone's heart. It is a wonderful movie that can express that the body could vanish but the soul is still alive. Michio Hoshino teaches us that the word “richness” does not really exist.

-What kind of person was Michio-San?

A simple, warm person with many friends.
He also had a goofy side.
　
-Did he always talked about the spiritual things like in the book?

We didn't talk about spiritual matters in daily life.
Although I went with him to take pictures, and when the photos and episodes became books for the first time, It was the time that I knew what was his thoughts and feelings.

Seeing the movie, I was surprised by how we forget about nature.
It reminded me that time with nature is a gift given by God.
"I could feel Hoshino-san like Alaska, and it was a very precious time."
